Day 12: The Gift of Christmas Spirit

The Gift of Christmas Spirit

During this time of year, many people enjoy Christmastime festivities; however, for most that happy spirit ends on January 1st. What we need to do is make that same spirit last forever. Have you noticed that no matter how many things you have to accomplish during the holidays, you still have a sense of joy and happiness? Making cookies, buying gifts, wrapping presents, decorating trees, hanging lights, sending cards, and attending Christmas parties are all bundled into one month. Yet, somehow, we still feel holly and jolly. Do you really know why?

We are celebrating the birth of our God. “Jesus is the Reason for the Season!” He is our happiness, our joy and our love.

So rather than losing that merry feeling, after the holiday has ended, continue sharing your love, happiness, smile, compassion, and pure heart. Make an effort to send cards throughout the year, bake cookies for a friend, smile more, laugh often, give to the needy, help the homeless, visit a long lost friend and keep the spirit of Christmas alive. I suggest printing a copy of the 30 days of Christmas Giving Calendar and hang it in your house, as a reminder of the Christmas Spirit.

So what is your favorite Christmas tradition? Make it a daily or monthly tradition, and spread that Christmas spirit all year long.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”.

John 3:16
