Everyone encounters storms in their life, some may be hurricanes, others tropical storms and others six ft. blizzards. Many of us can tackle each storm with confidence and preparation, while others see no hope. But why?

Speaking from my own perspective, and the wisdom gained through the biblical reading, I can assure you that no storm is too big to tackle, when God is on your side. Many people shy away from God’s word because they don’t believe, or they think He has failed them in the past. But believe me, when God is on your side a CAT5 hurricane, looks small.

If an Emergency alert was issued in your state that a severe hurricane was heading straight for your location, you would do everything to prepare for that storm. You would tie up your outside tables and chairs, possibly board up some windows, remain indoors, unless of course you were required to evacuate, but you would take action. These actions could prevent your house and yourself from being destroyed. Soon afterwards the storm moves along, takes down some trees, damages some homes (including yours) and requires some serious clean up. But you do what it takes to keep your home protected. When you put this same preparation into your faithful life, God helps you overcome many of these situations, some with ease, and others a bit harder. But He helps us overcome. In fact, no storm is too big!

In Proverbs 30:5 we read….

– “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”

These are just two of many, many words written in the bible that assure us, that God will protect his people. But without faith it is very hard to understand. During the holiday season, I think it would be a good idea to begin understanding our Powerful God. Who is He? What does he ask of us? If Christians only read 1/10th of the Bible (the Christian Rule Book), our eyes would be open, our understanding made clear and your life would be very different. In fact, when God is on your side, every storm is a sun shower.

I see so many people angry, depressed, sad and overcome with fears, and I KNOW they need Jesus, yet are too embarrassed to ask for his help. If you want help, then you really need to begin reading the bible and start living the life that God wants you to live. He will never, ever leave your side, but you need to believe. How do you believe? Start by reading his rule book – The Bible.

And the final word to help you overcome any storm, comes from John 3:16 –

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
