As I sit here reading “This Just Speaks to Me” by Hoda Kotb, I can truly say it does speak to me. One quote that won’t leave my mind is this…

Quite often we walk through life not knowing what direction to go, we feel lost, unsure and sometimes broken but then something speaks to you and shines a light in your soul. Well that is YOUR DOOR, so open it.

Sometimes it may take years to find that door, but when you do nothing can close it. No matter where you are in life, know that God is your source, your roadmap and your light. The more you pray and get to know God, the more you understand. He is always there, guiding us.

The more faith I have in God, the more he opens my eyes, softens my heart and grants me growing wisdom. Sure I may get upset when a door doesn’t open, but I give it to God and he ALWAYS clears the way. Sometimes, I pity myself and ask “Why do things happen to me?” Then WHAM! I realize it wasn’t the door God wanted me to open.

For me, I have found that writing is my door, I wake up knowing what to write. How can my written words help someone find the light, bring happiness to their soul or see the bigger picture? Many times, God wakes me and tells me what to write. I never hear his voice, or see his face, but the words are vivid in my mind.

The more we pray, the more we know God and the closer that door becomes. He will steer you in the right direction, but you have to believe. Don’t give up when a door closes, because that wasn’t your door. But know… when God opens YOUR DOOR, no one can close it.
